Tungsten trioxide can be prepared from ammonium paratungstate by the following steps:
Add ammonium paratungstate into the beaker and add enough water to dissolve it. The chemical formula of ammonium paratungstate is (NH4) 10W12O41 • 5H2O.
While stirring, slowly add ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) until the pH value is about 7.
While stirring, heat the heating plate to boiling state and continue heating for 2 to 3 hours until the volume of the solution is reduced to 1/3 of the original.
Filter the solution, wash the solid with water several times, and then dry it at 105 ° C.
Finally, the dried product is calcined at high temperature to obtain tungsten trioxide.
It should be noted that contact with skin and inhalation of gas should be avoided during the experiment.
