What is Tungsten Oxide?

The oxide of tungsten is mainly tungsten trioxide (WO3). The main physical properties of tungsten trioxide (WO3) are:

Density 7.2~7.4g/cm3; m.p.: 1470°C; b.p.: 1700~2000°C, significantly sublimated above 800°C, soluble in hydrofluoric acid solution and NaOH, Na2CO3 solution, slowly dissolved in ammonia solution, heated to high temperature It is slower; insoluble in other acids except hydrofluoric acid; H2 and CO can reduce it to metal tungsten at 800~900°C. There are two kinds of tungsten oxide, WO2.72 and WO2.90. Tungsten bronze is a kind of tungsten oxide, its general formula is: mR2O•WO2•WO3, where R is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal element.
