A typical production process of phosphotungstic acid is as follows:
(1) Dissolve sodium tungstate and disodium hydrogen phosphate in boiling water, and slowly add concentrated hydrochloric acid to it while stirring;
(2) When half of the acid is added, hydrogen phosphate will be separated, and the precipitated acid will be purified. Be careful not to filter it out;
(3) After the solution is cooled, add diethyl ether without reducing agent, stop when the mixture divides into three liquid layers after shaking; if necessary, add some water to dissolve the sodium chloride. The bottom liquid layer is phosphotungstic acid ether complex, add water to wash several times, add enough ether each time to form the third liquid layer;
(4) Pass the washed and dust-free air into the ether liquid layer to make it evaporate and crystallize;
(5) After filtering the crystallization, put it in the air without dust, and when there is no more ether smell, you can get H3PW12O40.
