How to Prepare Nano Tungstic Acid?

Nano tungstic acid can be synthesized by chemical precipitation method, using ammonium metatungstate (AMT) and hydrochloric acid (HCL) as raw materials, and the addition of ethanol can effectively improve the agglomeration of nanoparticles. However, liquid-phase precipitation technology can synthesize powdery nano-tungstic acid particles with high purity, small particle size and good dispersibility in alcohol-water system.

Monodispersed tungstic acid nanoparticles with an average particle size of about 20nm can be prepared by irradiating an aqueous solution of tungsten oxycitrate complex with ultraviolet light, and are studied. Research indicates:

  1. Monodisperse tungstic acid nanoparticles are composed of WO3•2H2O and WO3•H2O (XRD results).
  2. Citrate tungsten oxygen complex decomposes under ultraviolet light irradiation to form citric acid and tungstic acid, and citric acid undergoes photodegradation under the catalysis of tungstic acid (infrared spectroscopy research).
  3. The influence of light time and the ratio of the amount of citric acid to sodium tungstate (ncit/nst) on the structure and morphology of the product is shown as:

(1) With the prolongation of the light time, the content of WO3•2H2O in the product decreases and the content of WO3•H2O increases, the particle size of the product increases and the distribution widens;

(2) With the increase of ncit/nst, the content of WO3•2H2O in the product increased, while the content of WO3•H2O decreased, and the particle size of the product became smaller and the particle size distribution became narrower.
