What Are Production And Synthesis Methods of Tungsten Dioxide?

  1. The tungsten dioxide produced by the hydrogen reduction method of tungsten trioxide can exist stably in an atmosphere of 900°C, 40% to 55% hydrogen, and 45% to 60% water vapor, so this compound can be used by the following method Manufacture: Hydrogen gas purified with silica gel passes through a flask filled with water to become hydrogen gas saturated with water vapor. At this time, the temperature of the water in the flask should be kept at exactly 85°C. Connect the flask to the reaction tube with a connecting tube, wrap a heating wire on the connecting tube, and heat to about 100°C, so as not to condense the water vapor. A mixture of hydrogen and water vapor is introduced into the quartz reaction tube. Put the tray containing tungsten trioxide in the reaction tube, and raise the temperature of the reaction tube to 800-900°C. The reduction reaction is completed in about 2 hours. It is then cooled in an oxygen-free nitrogen stream.
  2. Metal tungsten reduction method of tungsten trioxide. Accurately weigh metal tungsten powder and tungsten trioxide at a molar ratio of 1:2 and mix them thoroughly. Put the mixture into a quartz tube with one end closed, and the container should be completely exhausted. Raise the temperature to 950°C in vacuum and keep it for 40 hours to obtain brown crystalline tungsten dioxide powder.
  3. Use ferrous sulfate as reducing agent, add reducing agent to sodium tungstate aqueous solution, tungsten dioxide will precipitate out.
