Lead metaniobate (PbNb2O6) is a ferroelectric with a tungsten bronze structure first discovered by G Goodman in the United States in 1952. It is one of the various compounds formed by PbO and Nb2O5. At this time, PbO:Nb2O5=1: 1 (only five lead ions can occupy the positions of Al and A2, so 5/6 of the A sites are filled, so it is not filled). PbNb2O6 has two phases at room temperature:
One is a ferroelectric phase with an orthorhombic structure, which is formed at a higher temperature (1230 ° C), and the Curie temperature is 570 ° C, which is higher than the Curie point and transforms into a tetragonal paraelectric phase.
One is a trigonal non-ferroelectric phase that transforms into a tetragonal phase at 1200°C. Because it often obtains a tripartite non-ferroelectric phase at room temperature, the ideal method is “modification”. Among them, the A-site ion Pb can be replaced by Ba to form a Pb1-xBaxNb2O6 solid solution.
