Hexamethyltungsten is a transition metal alkyl complex (English: Hexamethyl Tungsten), chemical formula W(CH3)6, and can also be written as WMe6. It is an air-sensitive red crystalline solid at room temperature; however, it is very volatile and sublimes at −30 °C. Because it has six methyl groups, it is very soluble in organic solvents such as petroleum, aromatic hydrocarbons, and ethers.
