What is Tungsten Tetrachloride? (Tungsten (IV) chloride)

Tungsten tetrachloride? (Tungsten (IV) chloride) is a kind of tungsten chloride. Tungsten tetrachloride is an inorganic substance with molecular formula WCl4 and chemical formula WCl4. Molecular weight 325.66. Grey-brown crystals. Deliquescence, hydrolysis. The specific gravity is 4.624 (25°C). Soluble in the mixture of sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide, decompose and oxidize to sodium tungstate or sodium peroxytungstate. Heating to 450~500℃ disproportionates into tungsten dichloride and tungsten pentachloride. And pyridine (PY) can form adduct WCl4 • 2 (PY). It will be hydrolyzed with water, it will not melt and sublime even if it is heated, but if it is heated under vacuum, it will decompose when it reaches the melting point; it is corrosive.
