Potassium thiotungstate; also known as Potassium Trioxothiotungstate, molecular formula K2WS4, molecular weight = 296.38, is an orange-yellow crystal. It can be dissolved in water, adding acid to its aqueous solution can decompose and precipitate tungsten trisulfide. It is obtained by evaporating and crystallizing hydrogen sulfide into alkaline potassium tungstate solution.
