What is Potassium Tungsten Silicate?

Potassium tungsten silicate is also known as “potassium tungsten silicate”, with a chemical formula of K4SiW12O40•18H2O and a molecular weight of 3354.95. Potassium tungsten silicate is a colorless hexagonal crystal. Potassium tungsten silicate is easily soluble in water and acetone, soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol, ether and benzene. When heated to 100°C, it loses 17 molecules of water to form monohydrate, and continues heating to become anhydrous salt.

Potassium tungsten silicate preparation method: It is obtained by reacting hot-suspended aqueous solution of gelatin-like silica gel with potassium tungstate and hydrochloric acid.
