Sodium silicotungstate is also known as “sodium dodecatungsilicate 20 hydrate”. Chemical formula Na4Si(W3O10)4•20H2O. Molecular weight 3326.53. Colorless triclinic crystals. Soluble in water, soluble in acid, ammonium hydroxide, slightly soluble in ethanol. It loses 7 molecules of water at 100°C and decomposes when heated strongly. Sodium silicotungstate preparation method: It is obtained by the action of Na2WO4, SiO2 and hydrochloric acid.
