Zinc tungstate, also known as tungsten zinc oxide, is a kind of tungstate composed of three elements: tungsten, zinc and oxygen. It is composed of positive divalent zinc ions (Zn2+) and tungstate ions [(WO4)2-] A covalent compound of wolframite, chemical formula ZnWO4, molecular weight 313.22, zinc tungstate is a white powder, stable at normal temperature and pressure. The English name of zinc acid is Tungsten Zinc Oxide, Tungsten Zinc Tetraoxide, Zinc Dioxido(Dioxo)tungsten. Tungsten, zinc and molybdenum are all transition metal elements; the atomic number of tungsten is 74; the atomic number of zinc is 30, and zinc tungstate is a compound composed of these two transition metal elements and oxygen element, with a special structure and physicochemical properties. The CAS registration number of zinc tungstate is 13597-56-3.
