Difference between The Oxidation States of Tetrabromotungsten and Tungsten Dibromide

Tungsten tetrabromide (WBr4) and tungsten dibromide (WBr2) differ somewhat in their oxidation states:

Tungsten tetrabromide (WBr4): The tungsten atoms in tetrabromotungsten exhibit a +4 oxidation state, and each tungsten atom is surrounded by four bromine atoms, forming a bond between the tungsten and the four bromine atoms.

Tungsten dibromide (WBr2): The tungsten atoms in tungsten dibromide exhibit a +2 oxidation state, and each tungsten atom is surrounded by two bromine atoms, forming a bond between tungsten and two bromine atoms.
