Difference in Solubility between Tungsten Tetrabromide and Tungsten Tribromide

There are some differences in the solubility of tetrabromotungsten (WBr4) and tribromotungsten (WBr3). The following is a brief description of their solubility:

Solubility of tungsten tetrabromide:
Tungsten tetrabromide is relatively insoluble in generally common solvents. It is poorly soluble in conventional organic solvents such as ether, methanol and acetone. However, in some organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran (THF) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), tetrabromotungsten can be partially dissolved to form coordination compounds or solutions.
