Tungsten carbide is a compound made of tungsten and carbon. The formula is WC.IT is black hexagonal crystal with metallic luster and hardness similar to diamond. It is a good conductor of electricity and heat. Tungsten carbide is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, but soluble in a mixture of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. Application
It is widely used in high-speed cutting tools, kiln structural materials, jet engine components, cermet materials, resistance heating elements, etc.
Used in the manufacture of cutting tools, wear-resistant parts, metal melting crucibles such as copper, cobalt, bismuth, and wear-resistant semiconductor films.
Used as a super hardened tool material, wear-resistant material. Many carbide carbide solutions can be used to form a solid solution. Wc-Tic-Co cemented carbide tools have been widely used. It can also be used as a modification additive for NBC-C carbides and a TAC-C ternary system, which can not only reduce the sintering temperature, but also maintain good performance, and can be used as aerospace materials.
