Firstly, barium tungsten cathode is one of the most widely used hot cathodes in vacuum devices, with a porous tungsten sponge substrate. Its composition, porosity, and pore uniformity directly determine the emission performance and lifespan of impregnated barium tungsten cathode. In order to improve the overall performance of pure barium tungsten cathode, researchers will add an appropriate amount of rhenium element to it.
And xenon lamps, also known as high-intensity discharge gas lamps, break Edison’s invention of tungsten filament luminescence principle by filling high-pressure inert gas – xenon gas in quartz tubes, replacing traditional filaments. There are mercury and carbon compounds on the two electrodes, which are stimulated by a high voltage current of 23000 volts through a stabilizer to emit xenon gas. A perfect white arc is formed between the two electrodes, and the emitted light is close to the perfect sunlight.
The barium tungsten cathode xenon flash lamp combines these two technologies to achieve more efficient and stable luminescence through the emission performance of the barium tungsten cathode and the high-intensity discharge characteristics of the xenon lamp. At present, this technology is mainly applied in fields such as photography lights, electronic checkpoint lights, skin rejuvenation and hair removal beauty lights, solar detection, pump light source lights, pulse sterilization, industrial counting lights, indicator lights, and signal lights.
