Tungsten fiber impregnated barium tungsten cathode is a special cathode material, and its preparation process mainly involves the mixing, pressing and subsequent impregnation of tungsten fiber and tungsten powder.
Tungsten fiber impregnated barium tungsten cathode material consists of a certain proportion of tungsten fiber (weight ratio 10-30%) and tungsten powder (the balance is tungsten powder). During the preparation process, the tungsten powder and tungsten fiber need to be annealed in a high-temperature hydrogen furnace respectively, and then the two materials are ground and mixed so that all fiber ports have a certain directionality. Then, the mixture is pressed into a flat-top cathode body using a die with a molybdenum cylinder inside.
A series of impregnation treatments will be carried out on the pressed cathode body. First, the cathode body is placed in a hydrogen furnace, and when the temperature reaches 1500-2000℃, it is kept warm for 1-10 hours. Then, the cathode body is placed in aluminate powder and impregnated at 1500-2000℃ for 1-10 minutes in a hydrogen atmosphere. The floating salt after impregnation is removed with a tungsten wool ball. Finally, a heater is installed to obtain a tungsten fiber-based impregnated barium tungsten cathode.
Tungsten fiber impregnated barium tungsten cathode material combines the advantages of tungsten fiber and barium tungsten, and has the characteristics of high electron emission capability, low work function, high electron emission electron current density and good gas discharge lamp ignition speed. Therefore, it is often used in optoelectronic products, navigation marks, target tracking, stage and dance hall effect display, film and television projection recording, laser mercury ion, medical positioning treatment light source and military weapons.
