What Is the Working Temperature of the Barium-Tungsten Cathode?

The stable working temperature of the barium-tungsten cathode is generally around 800℃. However, its working temperature and activation temperature range are usually between 900 and 1200℃. The activation temperature is generally about 100℃ higher than the normal working temperature of the cathode, which is about 1150℃.

In practical applications, cathode workers often use MoRu20, MoCo63, etc. as cathode brazing solder. The melting point of MoRu20 is 1900℃, which is a high-temperature solder, while the melting point of MoCo63 is 1330℃, which is a low-temperature solder. The melting points of these solders are all higher than the working temperature of the barium-tungsten cathode to ensure the stable operation of the cathode.

Please note that the above data is for reference only, and the specific working temperature may vary due to factors such as equipment, application environment and preparation process.
