In the production process of tungsten wire for textiles weaving gloves, the following chemical treatments are usually required to ensure the quality and performance of tungsten wire:
Reduction treatment in tungsten powder preparation:
The preparation of tungsten powder is usually achieved by chemical reduction. For example, tungsten oxide (WO₃) or ammonium tungstate (APT) is reduced at high temperature using hydrogen to produce high-purity tungsten powder.
Pickling treatment:
In the manufacturing process of tungsten wire, pickling treatment is usually used to remove oxides, impurities or contaminants on the surface. Commonly used pickling solutions include nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, etc. After pickling, the surface of the tungsten wire is smoother, which is helpful for subsequent processes.
Cleaning and passivation treatment:
After pickling, the tungsten wire is usually cleaned to remove residual acid and avoid corrosion of the tungsten wire. At the same time, passivation treatment may also be applied to form a protective oxide film on the surface of the tungsten wire to prevent oxidation during storage or use.
Degreasing treatment:
Before or after the wire drawing process, degreasing treatment may be required to remove residual lubricants or grease on the surface of the tungsten wire to ensure the cleanliness of the tungsten wire. This is usually carried out with organic solvents or alkaline solutions.
Oxidation and reduction treatment:
In some cases, in order to improve the mechanical properties of the tungsten wire or stabilize its surface properties, oxidation or reduction treatment in a controlled atmosphere may be carried out. These treatments help adjust the surface state of the tungsten wire to make it more suitable for the weaving process.
