“EWTh-2” is an international standard code for thorium tungsten electrodes, where “EW” stands for Electrode for Welding, “Th” means that the main element doped is thorium (Thorium), and the number “2” indicates that the thorium content is about 1.7% to 2.2%. This tungsten electrode has excellent arc initiation performance and arc stability due to the addition of thorium elements, making it particularly suitable for DC TIG welding processes for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metal materials.
The “EWTh-2” electrode is widely used in the field of industrial welding due to its excellent electron emission ability, which can quickly and stabilize arcing at low currents, while maintaining good mechanical strength and ablation resistance at high temperatures.
