How Do You Evaluate the Consistency of a Tungsten Electrode Batch?

To evaluate the consistency of a tungsten electrode batch, we usually start from the following aspects:

Chemical Composition Stability

Chemical analysis is used to detect whether the alloying element content (such as thorium, cerium, lanthanum, etc.) of the same batch of tungsten electrodes is uniform and consistent to ensure that the material ratio is stable.

Physical Performance Consistency

Measure the physical indicators such as hardness, density, and conductivity of the electrodes to determine whether each electrode meets the specifications and has little difference between them.

Size And Shape Consistency

Check the dimensional tolerance of electrode diameter, length and tipping angle of the end to ensure that the electrode size standard in the batch is uniform and convenient for welding operation.

Microscopic Tissue Consistency

The grain size, microstructure uniformity, and inclusion distribution were observed by metallurgical microscopy to evaluate the consistency of the internal structure of each electrode material in the batch.

Performance Test Consistency

Including arc voltage test, electrode ablation rate test and welding performance evaluation to confirm that there is no significant difference in the welding performance of each electrode in the batch.

Consistency In Appearance Quality

Check whether the electrode surface is uniform and smooth, and whether there are any defects such as cracks, oxidation spots, and mechanical damage.

Statistical Analysis

Statistical analysis of the above test data was carried out, such as calculating standard deviation and coefficient of variation, and quantitatively evaluating the consistency level of batches.
