1. Composition and Manufacturing Process
Cleaned Tungsten Wire
Raw materials and process: Uses black tungsten wire as raw material, removes surface oxide layer through alkaline washing or electrolytic polishing, resulting in a silver-gray metallic luster and smooth surface. Composition: Purity up to 99.95%, mainly tungsten, may be doped with small amounts of potassium, silicon, and aluminum oxides to enhance performance (e.g., anti-sagging, increased toughness). Classification: Divided into ordinary type (electrolytically cleaned and polished surface) and straightened type (electrolytically cleaned, polished, and straightened surface), with grades including W91, W71, W61, etc.
Ordinary Tungsten Wire (Black Tungsten Wire)
Raw materials and process: Directly made from tungsten powder through forging and drawing, surface without polishing treatment, presenting a black or dark oxide layer. Composition: Primarily pure tungsten, may contain small amounts of impurities, with little or no doping elements. Characteristics: Rough surface, slightly lower light efficiency and lifespan than cleaned tungsten wire, but lower cost.
2. Application Fields
Cleaned Tungsten Wire
Electronics and lighting: Widely used in the electro-vacuum industry, such as electron tubes, H-series automotive lamps, and filaments for special lamps. Medical and industrial: Surgical electrocautery knives, tungsten heaters, electro-vacuum device electrodes, lead wires, and other high-precision applications. Special requirements: Environments needing high surface smoothness and high temperature resistance, such as vacuum evaporation sources.
Ordinary Tungsten Wire
Traditional lighting: Filaments for incandescent lamps and halogen tungsten lamps, electrodes for gas discharge lamps. High-temperature applications: Heating elements for high-temperature furnaces, evaporation sources for gold plating processes, high-temperature structural parts. Basic industry: Used as raw material for cleaned tungsten wire or in scenarios with low surface requirements.
