In industry, hydrochloric acid is usually used to precipitate tungstic acid from sodium tungstate solution:

Na2WO4 + 2HC1 = H2WO4¯ + 2NaC1

Calcium Tungstate Precipitation and Its Acid Decomposition Method

Pour the CaCl2 solution into the sodium tungstate solution to form CaWO4 as a white precipitate (artificial scheelite). The precipitated CaWO4 is decomposed with hot hydrochloric acid to obtain a yellow tungstic acid precipitate with larger particles.

Tungstic acid extraction method
