Tungsten Oxide (WO3-x) Nanoparticle Ink

General Description

This WO3-x Nanoparticle Ink can be used for slit dye, rotary coating and squeegee coating and thus used as a hole transport layer in printed electronics. The tungsten oxide nanoparticle ink is a hole-selective interfacial layer ink based on a colloidal suspension of tungsten oxide (WO3) nanoparticles in isopropyl alcohol. The average size of the WO3 particles has been optimized to around 12-16 nm. The tungsten oxide nanoparticles exhibit high processability and ease of layering on hydrophilic and hydrophobic substrates. The WO3-x nanoparticle ink is generally applicable to both normal and inverted structure solar cells.

The annealing temperature is <100°C.

Applications

WO3 nanoparticle inks can be used as hole extraction layer (HEL) materials in OPV cells. Tungsten oxide nanoparticle inks can be blended with PEDOT:PSS formulations to fine-tune electronic and morphological dry layer properties (e.g., electrical conductivity, surface roughness, or layer porosity).

Additional Instructions

Before use: ultrasonic and (optionally) filtered through a 0.45 μm PTFE filter

Working conditions: use under nitrogen (or low humidity) and film drying

Post-treatment: Annealing of the deposited WO3-x films at 80°C-120°C.
