Tungsten oxychloride is relatively soluble in organic solvents;
Generate a dark red solution in dioxane and acetone;
Generate a dark green solution in cyclohexanone;
In ethanol and dimethoxyethanol, hydrogen chloride will be released and a clear solution will be formed;
In ammonia water or sodium hydroxide solution, tungsten oxychloride (Ⅵ) will react violently and form a colorless solution;
React with water, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid to form a yellow-green precipitate;
Soluble in CS2, S2Cl2, benzene, decompose in cold or hot water.
