Lanthanum tungsten electrode is a tungsten alloy electrode made of lanthanum oxide (La₂O₃) doped in high-purity tungsten. Its typical lanthanum content is generally controlled between 1% and 2%, and the common specification is about 1.5% to 2%. This doping ratio can effectively improve the arc initiation performance and arc stability of the electrode, while enhancing its ablation resistance and mechanical strength.
The appropriate amount of lanthanum oxide doping allows the electrode head to form a relatively stable ball shape during the welding process, which ensures the welding quality in AC and DC argon arc welding. Lanthanum tungsten electrodes are widely used in automated welding equipment and various welding processes due to their excellent properties, especially in situations where high durability and good arc control are required.
