To detect tungsten electrode concentricity, the following methods are usually used:
Mechanical Measurement
Fix the tungsten electrode on a precision fixture and use a dial indicator (dial indicator) or outside micrometer to measure the radial runout between the electrode rod and the end, the smaller the runout value, the better the concentricity.
Optical Measurement
Use an optical centerer or microscope to observe the concentricity of the axis and the outer diameter of the electrode, and measure the eccentricity through image analysis software to obtain concentricity data.
Rotational Measurement Method
The tungsten electrode is mounted on a rotating device and rotated at high speed, and the radial change of the electrode surface is detected using a sensor, and the runout amount is the concentricity index.
Coordinate Measuring Machine (cmm)
The electrode is scanned in 3D by a coordinate measuring instrument, and the relative position of the axis and the outer diameter is accurately measured, and the concentricity error is calculated.
Non-contact Laser Measurement
The laser scanning equipment is used to scan the surface contour of the tungsten electrode, and the concentricity parameters are obtained by analyzing the scanning data.
Detecting the concentricity of tungsten electrodes can effectively ensure the stability of the arc and welding quality of the electrode during welding, and avoid uneven electrode wear and weld defects caused by eccentricity.
