Ammonium metatungstate is an important compound in the tungsten smelting process. The chemical composition of the product is (NH4) 6H2 W12O40•nH2O or 3 (NH4)2O•12WO3•(n+1)H2O. Using ammonium tungstate solution as raw material, ammonium metatungstate solution is first prepared by solvent extraction or ion exchange method (USA), and there is also solvent extraction method using sodium tungstate solution as raw material (Europe); currently, ammonium paratungstate is mainly used in China (APT) as the starting material thermal dissociation method.
