What Is Tungstosilicate?

Silicotungstic Acid (Tungstosilicate Acid Hydrate) is a tungsten-based inorganic salt with a molecular formula of H4[Si(W3O10)4]•24H2O, a molecular weight of 3310.65, and a relative density of tungstosilicic acid of 10.5. Tungstosilicic acid is a white or light yellow crystal, deliquescent, soluble in water, ethanol and ether, and soluble in its own crystal water when heated. Decomposes at 600-650°C. Add hydrochloric acid dropwise to the mixed solution of sodium tungstate and sodium silicate to generate tungstosilicic acid, and then extract it with ether. Used as a precipitant for the determination of alkaloids and a mordant for basic aniline dyes. The preparation of silicotungstic acid is to add sodium silicate to sodium tungstate solution, and then slowly add hydrochloric acid. Generate tungstic acid solution, extracted with ether derived. Silicotungstic acid is mainly used as a biochemical reagent, and is also used in the pigment industry and other aspects.
