What Is Process of Producing Tungsten Oxide by Tungstate Method?

The tungstate method is one of the commonly used production techniques for tungsten oxide. The following are the basic steps of the tungstate method:

Raw Material Preparation

Tungsten ore is selected as the raw material, and the leaching solution of tungstate is obtained through the steps of beneficiation, crushing and leaching.

Reduction

The tungstate leaching solution is subjected to a reduction reaction, usually using a reducing agent (such as hydrogen) or other reducing agents to reduce tungstic acid to tungstate precipitation.

Filter

The reduced tungstate precipitate is separated by filtration to obtain a wet tungstate solid.

Drying

Dry the wet tungstate solid to remove the moisture to obtain dry tungstate solid.

Calcined

The dry tungstate solid is subjected to high-temperature calcination treatment, usually at a high temperature above 1000°C, to decompose it into tungsten oxide.

Crush

The calcined tungsten oxide is pulverized to obtain the tungsten oxide product with the desired particle size.

The tungstate method is a mature tungsten oxide production technology with high output and good product quality control ability. In industry, the tungstate method is often used in the large-scale production of tungsten oxide to supply the application needs of various fields.
