Application
The produced material can be used to mimic diamond, as a scintillator or as a solid-state laser medium. It is also used in radium paint in the same way as zinc sulfide, and Thomas Edison invented a fluoroscope with a calcium tungstate-coated screen that made images six times brighter than those using barium platinocyanide.
