White, yellow-white, light purple, etc., oily luster or diamond luster; transparent to translucent. The cleavage {111} is medium; the fracture is uneven. Hardness 4.5 ~5. The relative density is 5.8 ~6.2 (the relative density decreases with the increase of Mo). Brittle. It is luminescent and emits light blue to yellow (depending on the content of Mo, the fluorescence becomes light yellow to white) fluorescence under the irradiation of ultraviolet light.
