- Roasting and decomposition method: react tungstic acid and ammonia water at 57-60°C for 3 hours under stirring, keep warm and naturally settle for more than 16 hours, and the ammonium tungstate produced will react with hydrogen sulfide gas to form tetrathioammonium tungstate, decomposed for tungsten disulfide.
- The reaction between tungsten and liquid sulfur is very slow. WS2 can be formed by passing sulfur vapor to red hot tungsten. Mixing tungsten with stoichiometric sulfur blooms and reacting at 800°C for 24 hours in a nitrogen atmosphere can form WS2, such as reacting at 6MPa and 1800°C, can form orthorhombic WS2.
