What Is Oxidation Resistance of Cemented Carbide?

Carbide has poor oxidation resistance.

At high temperatures, the carbide particles in cemented carbide are not easy to melt or decompose, but an oxide film will form on the surface. This oxide film will reduce the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of the alloy. Therefore, in high-temperature environments, cemented carbide needs to take corresponding anti-oxidation measures, such as coating protection, atmosphere protection, etc., to prevent it from oxidizing.

In general, the oxidation resistance of cemented carbide is relatively poor, and corresponding anti-oxidation measures need to be taken to improve its oxidation resistance.
